The date was May 24th, 2016, it was my first official day working with Michael B. Jordan. Having no idea what to expect on day one, I arrive at Mike's house. As he casually told me the agenda for the day, it was explained we were headed to Newport Beach because he had to shoot some stuff with Kobe. “KOBE!?!” I inquired, trying to play it off cool as if it was just another day on the inside but knowing damn well I was about to meet Kobe again, for the second time *gasps*.
Over the last week there have been a few things going through my mind. With our lives being forever changed, I am curious to know what our “new normal” will be and in what ways will this pandemic cause my faith to grow? I’m wishfully optimistic that the outcome will create a better world for us all. I hope we are able to see things, people and situations for what they really are and I hope we understand that we’re much more connected to each other than we think. It’s much bigger than “I & Me” it’s all about “We & Us”.
We had the pleasure of talking with Jacky Wright, son of Trap Queen Thelma Wright. But this ain't ya average podcast so you KNOW we brought the crazy, so have a seat and tell ya kids to cover their ears. Welcome to The OverRated Truth!
One of the silver linings has been the importance of creating and having your own. Whether you’re just beginning your marathon or are on lap number 24, it can be such a rewarding and life-changing experience once you make the decision to start your race. You are your own competition and you are the only thing that can get in the way of reaching your goals.
Fall is my favorite season of the year. All of the summer shenanigans have concluded and the time has come to buckle down and finish the year out strong. More importantly, autumn begins a few days after my birthday (Happy Belated to me!) and the beginning of basketball (NBA & NCAA) is right around the corner. If you know me on a personal level then you already know I'm a hooper and I love using basketball analogies as a way of articulating my perspectives and ideologies, because quite frankly – ball is life!
