If you’re reading this, you are blessed! God’s grace and favor have allowed us to see another day and I hope you never take that for granted. At this point I’m not sure how many days we’ve been under stay-at-home orders and to be honest, I often forget what day of the week it is. I’ve been checking on my mother and family daily and in one recent conversation, I mentioned how time is flying and the days are blending together as one long continuum of time. Considering most of us are in the confines of our homes/apartments, it’s a really odd feeling to say the least. I may be in the minority here but I am in no rush to go back outside to embark upon the “new normal”, I’m super good on that.
We’ve all seen the meme on social media about being hyper-productive during isolation. “If you don’t come out of this quarantine with 1) a new skill, 2) your side hustle started, or 3) more knowledge — you never lacked time. You lacked discipline.”
I’m here to tell you, that’s fugazy! If you’re in a position to use this time to be creative, by all means tap in and go off. But if you’re in a state of sheer survival, I urge you to do your very best to do just that, survive. Trust me when I tell you, this is a critical time for mental fortitude. Please take the necessary precautions to not allow your judgment to be clouded into thinking you’ve become a failure. Social media can be a slippery slope and everyone’s situation is different during these trying times. Candidly speaking, some of those same people that are talking down will be doing the same raggedy sh*t they were doing before this pandemic arose – just talking and posting memes. If the only thing you work on is yourself and your sanity, your future-self will ultimately thank you tenfold, I can promise you that!
I only have one request from you in this season - PRAY. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Pray for clarity and direction in this time, pray for good health and protection when you go out for your essentials. Pray for resources to cover your rent and bills. Pray for the well being of your loved ones. Anything else at this point is a bonus and God’s favor. In this time I hope you realize what really matters, what never did and what always will.
We can only take this life one day at a time; always remember this is a marathon not a sprint. Do what you need to do to stay on track and live to run another lap.
I’ll be tapping back in soon. Until then…
